I have finally updated page rank for all domains and sites. For the majority, it wasn’t a big increase or decrease, but evenly spread out amongst them all. I’ll continually be working on each site to improve it better and converting the domains into future sites.

It’s been quite a while since my last post. I’ve been busy with a server migration, new sites I bought and developed more, and with making updates to one of my sites, PrizeLive.com. I have also recently discovered making my own videos and uploading them to YouTube. I’m using free software from CamStudio.org and I have only made 3 videos so far, so I’m still learning the ropes. Anyway, check out the video below of a game called Match Up on PrizeLive.com. I’ll be posting other videos later in the week.

I just picked up my second oldest domain I have in my portfolio. The domain is PlayCouples-Online.com and is currently 13 years, 1 month, and 11 days old. It was first registered on August 12, 1995. The oldest domain I have, nsctoronto.com, is almost 14 years old.

Having old domains has been said to be helpful in SEO purposes, but I am not certain if thats the case or not. The main reason I get them is to resell to the right person, and plus its hard to find a lot of domains that are over 13-14 years old that are for sale.

If you are having thoughts, doubts, concerns, etc. about backing up your website files, database (all data), there is really nothing to think about. The answer is a hell yes. On this past Wednesday morning, approximately at 1:00am EST, my server crashed. Luckily the data was still on the server. The issue was that the operating system wouldn’t start. After two days of work.. the data was migrated to a new server. Luckily, all of it was saved because I did not have any sort of backup what-so-ever.. for any of my 75+ sites!! Now I have learned my lesson and am going to backup the database at least 2-3 times per week and will backup my website files whenever any sort of change is made to them. This will make the restore process quicker and not having to rely on your web host to save everything in case of a server issue like I had.

I’m still going through sites and finding bugs and issues and having to fix them. Not everything is the same on this server from my last so its taking a little time to make sure everything is correct.

Just please take my advice and backup your sites at least on a weekly basis. Having something a week old is better than not having anything at all! If you can back it up daily, that’s even better. Who knows what will happen to your server / webhost.

DNKitchen.com is getting a face lift and changing names in an attempt to broaden the range of topics discussed beyond domaining. 2009 is going to be the start of something new for many people all over the world. The internet is no exception.

For several months novice and experienced domainers alike have been flocking to DNKitchen for the latest in domaining news. Chef Patrick and his sou-chefs have been cooking up blogs about all things domaining. They’ve been serving up some fine cuisines of tips and tricks of the trade, great high profile interviews and funny comic strips.

DNKitchen has acquired a multitude of loyal followers in a very short amount of time. After having this small taste of success, Chef Patrick has decided to branch out. DNKitchen.com will be known as ChefPatrick.com effective immediately.

The change should prove to be an exciting difference. This will open up the conversation to topics of online issues such as making money online, blogging, development and more instead of just domaining alone. While domaining will remain the main topic of discussion, Chef Patrick will also chronicle any attempts of making money through the internet. During the process he will openly discuss what he’s doing, how he’s doing it and what he’s making on ChefPatrick.com.

While change is not easy for some people to swallow, hopefully ChefPatrick.com will create some recipes for success we all can follow and prosper from.

Directly from MysteryDomainAuction.com:

” Following legal advice obtained as a result of concerns raised by fellow domaining bloggers and some NamePros members about the legality of an all-pay auction in the US where this site is hosted in addition to consideration of the problems I may face at the end of the auction in case more than one person bids with the same amount which is very likely I have decided that the best option is to cancel this auction effective immediately.

All bids have now been refunded.

All affiliates that made sales have been paid out of my own pocket. “

I would at least like to know what the mystery $10,000 domain name was.
